GOSHEN, Ind. - Brenna Spangler had a career-high five total blocks when Goshen hosted Bethel on Friday night, but the Pilots won in three sets 25-21, 25-17, 25-11.
Spangler had four block assists and a solo block - her sixth this season.
Sadie Brenneman also provided a bright spot with three aces - the most she has had in a match since September 1 against Brescia.
However, the Maple Leafs finished with more attack errors than kills, with a final hitting percentage of -.010. Bethel had 13 attack errors in the first and third sets but just two in the second set when they hit at a .545 clip.
Bethel improved to 17-3 this season and 6-3 in the Crossroads League. Goshen hosts Grace on Saturday at 2:00 pm. It is the team's Staff Appreciation Game, and each player will recognize a GC staff member before the start of the match.
