GOSHEN, Ind. - Led by two goals from
Seja Lang, the Goshen women's soccer team has already matched their win total from a season ago after a 3-0 win against Carolina University on Labor Day. Defender
Brynja Hjartardottir scored the other goal in the win to put the Leafs' record at 5-0.
The result was Goshen's third shutout of the season, and they are allowing just 0.4 goals per game. They have outscored their opponents 12-2 this season.
Lang scored her first goal of the match in the 15th minute, and the second came less than a minute into the second half. They were her third and fourth goals of the season, and
Sophia Yoder picked up the assist on both. Lang and Yoder are tied for the team lead in goals this year. Hjartardottir scored her goal less than two minutes after Lang's first goal. It was her third as a Maple Leaf and her first since November 2, 2021.
Goshen had 15 shots in the first half before slowing down in the second with seven more attempts. In comparison, Carolina had just five total shots to Goshen's 22. Lang, Hjartardottir, Yoder and
Laura Castro had multiple shots on goal. Yoder leads all Crossroads League players with 23 shots this season.
