Big second and third quarters push #2 Wildcats over Leafs

Mohamed and McAllister score ten each

GOSHEN, Ind. - The Wildcats from Indiana Wesleyan secured their 16th straight win on Wednesday night as they topped the Maple Leafs 91-61. Goshen's record in the Crossroads League dropped to 3-5.

Indiana Wesleyan shot just 33% in the first quarter and was 0-5 from three, while Goshen hit 55% in the first. IWU still had a 17-13 lead after the quarter, though.

The #2 ranked Wildcats found their groove in the second and third quarters, shooting 24-34 (71%) during that stretch. The Maple Leafs were 8-27 (30%) during those quarters. The Wildcats scored much in the paint, with a 56-24 advantage in the category.

Syanne Mohamed and Montasia McAllister had ten points each for GC, and McAllister was 2-3 from three. Sophia Eli scored eight points off the bench, with six coming at the line. Zion Neat and Paula Ferrer Nolla had six points apiece - Ferrer Nolla's most points as a Leaf.

Between games, the players from the men's and women's teams recognized professors and staff members who have significantly impacted their lives. You can read about the recognition below.

Goshen is at Huntington on Saturday, January 20, at 1:00 pm. Goshen won their most recent game at Huntington 72-42, which had ended a nine-game losing skid to the Foresters.
