HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Goshen had a 20-14 lead at the end of the first quarter on Saturday at Huntington, but the Foresters women's basketball team came back with a prolific display from behind the three-point line to win 79-61. 41 of Huntington's 66 shot attempts were from three.
Goshen made six of their ten first quarter shots whereas HU was shooting 26% and just 3-13 from three. However, the home team turned it around in the second quarter, going 5-11 from three in that span.
The Leafs won the boards 37-32 but had 20 turnovers to Huntington's nine. The Foresters scored 29 points off of the GC miscues. Huntington ended the game by making 16 of their 41 three-point attempts, for a 39% clip. They had four players make at least two three-pointers each.
Syanne Mohamed had 13 points and seven rebounds for Goshen, efficiently shooting 5-8.
Montasia McAllister had the most attempts for the Maple Leafs, going 4-12 with ten points. Nion Neat had ten points and
Kyla Foster led the team with nine rebounds.
Goshen's upcoming test will be next Saturday, January 27, at 1:00 pm against Bethel in Mishawaka. They return home on January 31 against Saint Francis for Cancer Awareness Night.
