HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Goshen had four double-digit scorers but struggled from three and at the free-throw line during a 100-64 loss at Huntington on Saturday afternoon.
The Foresters shot 56% in the first half and only got better, finishing 40-69 for a percentage of 58%. Goshen did well at getting offensive rebounds - their total of 14 doubled Huntington's. But HU had six more blocks, five more steals and eight fewer turnovers. The Leafs shot 15% from three (3-20) and 45% at the free-throw line (9-20).
Judah Simfukwe made six of his nine shots and had 15 points.
Kevin Cota shot just 1-6 at the free-throw line but went 6-8 from the field with eight rebounds and 13 points. His 13 points are his second-highest total this season.
Karson Jenkins totaled 11 points and eight rebounds.
Marcus Northern had 16 points.
The Maple Leafs are on the road next Saturday, January 27, to take on #23 Bethel at 3:00 pm. The next Goshen home game is January 31 against Saint Francis for Cancer Awareness Night.
