GOSHEN, Ind. - The Goshen men's soccer team got a point in a 0-0 tie with Mount Vernon Nazarene on Saturday. The Cougars are receiving votes in the coaches poll. Goshen has two ties with teams receiving votes this season.
This was Goshen's first time not allowing any goals to a conference opponent this season, let alone less than three goals. The last time the Leafs held a Crossroads League school scoreless was on October 15, 2022 in a 1-0 win at Taylor. While they've done it a handful of times on the road in recent years, the last time it happened at home was on September 30, 2017 in a 4-0 win against Saint Francis.

Gregor Rommelspacher had more work to do in the second half, making three saves as the Cougars took nine shots in the latter 45 minutes. Goshen took another seven shots in the second half.
The Cougars had two more corner kicks but the Maple Leafs had five more shots on goal.
Mathurin Allawai led Goshen with four shots and three on frame.
Tebello Ntene had two shots on goal.
Goshen hosts Saint Francis on Wednesday, October 16, at 7:30 pm. The game was moved back half an hour due to the reserve teams playing beforehand, which will start at 4:30 pm.
