GOSHEN, Ind. - Saint Francis scored what would end up being the game-winning goal in the sixth minute against Goshen on Wednesday night on the way to a 2-0 win for the Cougars. Both teams were winless in league play to that point.
Christian Walter scored on a cross in the sixth minute - his fifth goal of the season. In the 42nd minute, Joshua Boschveld bent in a shot from 30 yards out into the upper 90 - also his fifth goal of the year.
Although all of the scoring came in the first half, USF had five more shots in the second half compared to the first.
Gregor Rommelspacher made five second half saves and one in the first. Goshen took four shots in each half but only two were on goal - both in the second half by
Mathurin Allawai and
Stephen Bandi.
Tebello Ntene had three shots but none were on target.
Goshen hosts #9 Bethel on Saturday, October 19, at 7:00 pm for Senior Night.
