FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Goshen women's soccer team lost at Saint Francis on Wednesday night 1-0 after a 58th minute goal from Taylor Swygart. Goshen's two shots on goal came from
Alessandra Aguilera.
Anita Tavares had a shot go wide left in the sixth minute, but the Maple Leafs didn't have any other shots in the first half. The Cougars had three in the first 15 minutes, but they only had one in the remaining 30 minutes of the half. Swygart's goal was assisted by Carlee Biddle in the 58th minute - the first time Saint Francis had scored against Goshen since 2019. Aguilera's first shot on goal came in the 83rd minute and her second attempt was with just 29 seconds left in the game. Rachel Bova made the save for USF to keep the shutout intact and the Cougars secured the win on their home turf.

Anita Tavares had one.
Aina Lopez made three saves in goal, playing all 90 minutes. Saint Francis is 9-2-4 overall and 2-2-2 in the Crossroads League. This was Goshen's first loss to Saint Francis since 2017.
The Maple Leafs are at Bethel on Saturday, October 19, at 6:00 pm. The game had originally been scheduled for 7:00 pm but was moved up an hour. Bethel currently leads in the U.S. Highway 20 Cup rivalry 1.5-1.0.
