MARION, Ind. - The Goshen men's soccer team lost a lopsided affair in Marion on Saturday night, as the #5 Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats won 5-0. IWU improved to 12-1-0 overall with the win.
Indiana Wesleyan had five different goals from four different scorers. Jose Garcia got them on the board in the ninth minute and he had his second goal of the game and eighth of the year in the 54th minute. That was after the second Wildcats goal, which came ten seconds before halftime. They later added goals in the 59th and 82nd minutes.
IWU had 21 fouls in the game and Goshen had 12.
Iker Fernandez-Andes and
Kingsley Kanu both had a shot on goal for Goshen.
Stephen Bandi,
Jordan Ross Richer and
Guilherme Mello added shots as well. The loss is Goshen's worst loss to the Wildcats since 2002, a game that was also 5-0 in Marion.
Goshen hosts Mount Vernon Nazarene on Saturday, October 12, at 7:00 pm.
