LIVONIA, Mich. - Richard Wilson had another 20+ point performance in Goshen's second game of the season, but #21 Madonna won 97-75 in their season opener.
Most of Goshen's deficit came from the first five minutes, as the Crusaders built a 15-4 lead early on. They led by 21 after the first 14 minutes and 30 seconds, but only outscored the Leafs by one for the next 25 minutes and 30 seconds.
Goshen went 16-16 from the free-throw line in the second half. They finished shooting 95% from the free-throw line even though they shot just 38.5% from the field and 22.2% from three.
Wilson finished with 25 points on 10-17 shooting and eight rebounds.
Kevin Cota had 12 points and six rebounds. He made four of his six shot attempts but had five turnovers.
Tariq Humes had 12 points as well and
Judah Simfukwe scored in double figures with ten.
Braden Allen had nine points and was 5-5 at the line.
Goshen stays in Livonia to face Lawrence Tech at Madonna on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
