CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio - Ohio Christian outscored Goshen by ten points over the last two quarters as they went on to beat the Leafs 75-61 on Monday afternoon.
A basket by
Zoe Zellers less than 30 seconds into the third quarter had Goshen within two after a strong second quarter. However, the Trailblazers went on a 13-5 run which caused head coach
Tyra Carver to put in a new five players into the lineup all at once. The deficit stayed at ten for the remainder of the quarter.
Some starters came back in to start the fourth quarter, but Ohio Christian shot 4-7 from three in the fourth and improved their lead to 14 by the end of the game.
Zion Neat had 15 points for Goshen and was 3-3 from three. She had four rebounds, four assists and was 4-4 from the free-throw line, but also had four turnovers.
Zoe Zellers had 11 points and four rebounds while
Syanne Mohamed and
Emme Boots had eight points each.
Ava Lickliter and
Paula Ferrer Nolla had six rebounds apiece.
Ohio Christian's Ashley DeWeese had 27 points and Emma Koons had a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.
Goshen (6-6, 1-3 CL) hosts IU-East on New Year's Eve at 2:00 pm for their last nonconference game of the season.
