WINONA LAKE, Ind. - After playing high-quality basketball against the #2 team in the NAIA on Wednesday night, the Leafs ran into trouble at Grace this weekend, losing 74-49 in Winona Lake.
Turnovers were the biggest issue for the Maple Leafs - they had a season-high 25. The Lancers led by five after the first quarter but outscored Goshen 22-9 in the second.
Goshen had ten points each from two players off the bench -
Kiana Oelling and
Zoe Zellers. Oelling was 3-4 shooting and had four assists. Zellers was 6-6 at the free-throw line with four rebounds and no turnovers. Goshen had eight players with at least two turnovers each.
The Leafs had a higher shooting percentage than the Lancers but had 24 fewer shot attempts. They were outrebounded 46-27 despite holding the fifth-best rebounding margin per game in the Crossroads League.
