GLENDALE, Ariz. - In their second game as a part of their Arizona trip, the Goshen women's soccer team lost 5-0 to Arizona Christian on a hot morning in Glendale.
The Firestorm scored twice in the first half with the first goal coming in the 29th minute by Cami Mercado and the next by Addi Cline in the 39th minute. The second half was more dominant for ACU, as they added three more goals on six shots in the half. Five of their six on-target shots in the game ended up being goals.
Mercado scored twice and Abby Glover had three assists for Arizona Christian.
Anita Tavares and
Sophia Yoder had shots on goal for Goshen. Tavares,
Seja Lang and
Alessandra Aguilera took additional shots for the Maple Leafs.
Makiah McCain played the first half in goal and
Aina Lopez played the second.
Goshen's next game is the home opener against Cornerstone on Saturday, August 24, at 7:00 pm.
