GOSHEN, Ind. - Alessandra Aguilera scored Goshen's first goal of the season, but the women's soccer team lost to Cornerstone 2-1 on Saturday night at the GC Soccer Complex.
Gracie Gortmaker put the Golden Eagles on the board early in the fourth minute, but the score was still 1-0 by halftime. Cornerstone got a second goal on an own goal in the 56th minute. Goshen had a free-kick attempt in the 88th minute, and
Alessandra Aguilera booted a beauty beyond the keeper to cut the lead in half.
Sophia Yoder had a shot in the final minute that went wide right, and Cornerstone won 2-1.
Cornerstone had 20 shots but only six were on target. Of Goshen's ten shots, five were on frame. Goshen had ten total shots in their first two games in Arizona combined. The Golden Eagles had eight corner kicks and Goshen had none. Yoder had four shots, one of which was on goal.
