GOSHEN, Ind. - Goshen had a strong start against the #10 team in the NAIA, only down three at halftime. However, the Bethel Pilots moved to 10-0 in league play with an 86-69 win over Goshen in Ruth Gunden Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Goshen shot 54% from the field and 46% from three in the first half. Bethel had a 12-point lead at 30-18, but the Maple Leafs went on a 20-9 run to pull within one after
Judah Simfukwe made the first bucket of the second half.
The Pilots improved their shooting in the second half, going 4-7 from three and making 53% of their shots. They also went 17-19 at the line in the game while Goshen was 7-13. The largest lead of thecontest for the visitors came with under a minute to go when they went up 18, before winning by 17.
Richard Wilson scored 20 points - his sixth 20+ point game of the season and his third in the last four outings.
Judah Simfukwe finished with 19 points. For the second time in three games, he has posted both a field goal percentage and three-point percentage over 60%.
DJ Bryant's four assists tied a season-high for a conference game. Jurah Minarovjech had five assists, which was the second-most for him this season.
Baran Aslan made two three-pointers in the game after previously going 1-12 the rest of the season. He finished with eight points.
