FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Judah Simfukwe scored a career-high 28 points but the Saint Francis Cougars defeated the Maple Leafs 84-67 in Fort Wayne on Wednesday night.
Goshen outscored Saint Francis by six in the second half but they were already down 23 at the halftime break. The Leafs had fewer turnovers and shot better at the free-throw line, but shot just 23.3% from three and lost the rebound margin by 15.
Simfukwe made a three from the corner in the closing seconds to give him a career-best 28 points. He was 9-12 from the floor and 3-5 behind the arc. He made seven of his nine free-throw attempts.
Richard Wilson, Goshen's leading scorer this season, went just 5-15 for the night, including 1-9 from three. He finished with 11 points and four rebounds.
Saiveon Williams scored 12 points, going 6-7 with four rebounds.
Baran Aslan totaled six points and four boards.
