Men's soccer shut out in tough road loss despite leading in shots

Seven of Huntington's eight shots were on goal

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Men's soccer had their worst Crossroads League loss of the season on Wednesday at Huntington, as the Foresters won 5-0. Huntington is now eighth in the league standings and Goshen is ninth.

The Foresters scored four of their goals in the first half, with the first coming in the second minute from Kolton Foster. Thiago Fernando added goals in the seventh and 28th minutes before Reshano Hasselbaink added another in the 43rd. Despite being down 4-0 at the break, Goshen led in total shots 8-5 at that point.

Both teams took three shots in the second half, but only the Foresters could capitalize on one. Henry Heaney did so in the 85th minute. Goshen finished with three more shots than Huntington, but the Foresters efficiently put seven of their eight shots on frame. Goshen only did so with four of their 11 shots.

Adrian Gonzalez Martinez had three of Goshen's four shots on goal and Diogo Coelho had the other. Gonzalez Martinez also led the team with four total shots. Nicholas Whitaker had two shots - his seventh straight game with at least one shot.
