Null had her highest scoring total since November 13 last season

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - Women's basketball lost a one-sided affair in their first game of the Patriot Classic at the University of the Cumberlands on Thursday evening. Southeastern, a team receiving votes in the NAIA coaches' poll, left with an 80-49 win.

Goshen led 9-8 in the first quarter and the Fire went on a 5-0 run to go up 14-9 by the end of the quarter. It ended up being the lowest scoring quarter for each team, and Southeastern's lead only grew from there, moving to 3-0 on the season. They led by 13 at the half and outscored the Leafs by 18 in the second half.

Lillian Null was Goshen's leading scorer with 19 points. She was 7-12 from the field, went 4-4 at the free-throw line and had two steals. She had 14 points in her first three games combined this season. 19 points is her highest total since scoring 20 against Holy Cross on November 13 last season. Nasiya Gause scored 14 points off the bench on 6-10 shooting. She was 2-3 from behind the arc. Vivian McSpadden had 10 rebounds in 21 minutes, but went 1-6 from the field, finishing with three points. Southeastern dominated the assists category 21-7 and outrebounded Goshen by 16.
