NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Goshen outscored Holy Cross by eight points in the fourth quarter, but the Saints already held an insurmountable lead as they went on to win 80-64 over the Maple Leafs on Tuesday afternoon.
With Goshen up 4-3, Holy Cross went on an 8-0 run to take a seven-point lead at 11-4. Their lead hit double-digits in the final seconds of the quarter and was as high as 23 points in the second quarter. They led by 20 at the break and increased the lead to 24 after three quarters.
The Maple Leafs held the Saints to just 11 points in the fourth quarter after allowing at least 20 in each of the first three. The deficit was too much to overcome, however, and Holy Cross won by 16 points.
Goshen was 1-12 from three in the game while HCC went 6-18.
Kyla Foster was Goshen's leading scorer with 12 points and a season-high 11 rebounds for a double-double. Her three highest rebound totals of the season have come from the last three games.
Paulecia Isom had ten points and three steals. Previously, she had not had more than one steal in a game.
Kyla Smith had a season-high nine points in her first minutes since December 3. She tied season-highs with five free-throws and five rebounds. As a team, GC forced more turnovers than they committed for the fourth time in the last six games.
