INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Goshen put up a fight in the closing minutes and had four players score in double figures but ultimately lost to Marian on Thursday evening. The Knights won 76-68 in a game that was rescheduled from Wednesday night due to freezing rain.
Marian's 76 points was the fewest they have scored against the Leafs since January 21, 2017. Goshen went up early 8-2, but the home team responded with an 11-0 run. Goshen had the lead a few more times in the half, taking it up to a five-point lead, but found themselves down four at the halftime break.
Richard Wilson had 11 points in the first half, going 4-4 from the floor and 3-3 from three-point range.
The Knights held off the Maple Leafs for much of the second half, and their lead was up to 12 with under four minutes to go. However, a 9-2 Goshen run put the Leafs back in it, thanks to points from
Marcus Northern and
Braden Allen. The Leafs missed two layups and a three-pointer in the final 30 seconds and Marian made three free-throws, giving the Knights an eight-point win when it was all said and done.
Goshen had four double-digit scorers -
Richard Wilson,
Marcus Northern,
Braden Allen and
Jacob Carlson.
Saiveon Williams led the team with nine rebounds and had five points to go with it. Northern had 14 points, six rebounds and four assists, but made just six of 17 shot attempts. Wilson went 3-5 and had 14 points.
