GOSHEN, Ind. - After seven straight losses to the Lancers, the Goshen women's basketball team beat Grace at home on Saturday afternoon 76-57.
Zion Neat scored a GC career-high 30 points in the 19-point win - Goshen's largest margin of victory against Grace since a 78-48 win on February 24, 2004.
Goshen's ten wins so far this season are their most since the 2021-22 season. Goshen was up three after the first quarter, but they created more separation in the second and third quarters. The Goshen defense held the Lancers to shooting just 2-15 from behind the arc in the first three quarters. In the second and third quarters, Grace shot the ball at just a 26% success rate.
For Goshen, it was all about
Zion Neat. Neat scored 30 points with seven rebounds and two steals. She scored 39% of Goshen's points and made 12 of the team's 32 buckets. Her 30 points is a career-high at Goshen, she had 32 points in a game as a sophomore at Columbia International. Her 12 made field goals is a career-high and she had her fourth game of the year with seven or more rebounds. Three of those have happened in the last six games. Neat now has 1,987 career collegiate points and her 1,121 at Goshen has her at 16th on the all-time list.
Syanne Mohamed had ten points and seven rebounds and tied a season-high with four assists.
Ava Lickliter's seven assists tied a career-high and
Carrie Hiler's three three-pointers was a season-high for the freshman from Nabb, Indiana. Goshen shot 53.3% as a team in the game. The Leafs are 3-0 in games this year when they shoot over 50%.
