GARY, Ind. - Sophia Yoder scored her second goal of the season as the Maple Leafs played IU-Northwest to a 1-1 tie in their first road game of the season.
The RedHawks scored first in the 15th minute as Alanis Gonzalez found the back of the net. While the home team dominated in shots (19-4) and shots on goal (10-3),
Sophia Yoder's goal in the 30th minute tied the game up and the Maple Leafs were able to prevent any more goals for the duration of the contest. Goalkeeper
Aina Lopez faced ten shots on goal and made nine saves. Lopez has not allowed more than one goal in a game in her last eight full games as goalie.
Aside from Yoder's goal, Goshen's other three shots came from
Evyn Pruett and
Natalie Boulier. Both of Pruett's attempts were on target. Goshen is 1-0-2 against IU-Northwest over the pat three seasons.
