GOSHEN, Ind. - The Goshen women's volleyball team lost the first of two U.S. Highway 20 Cup matchups with Bethel on Wednesday night at Gunden Gymnasium. The Pilots won 25-10, 25-17, 25-16.

With Bethel up 10-6 in the first set, the visitors went on an 8-0 run to triple Goshen's score at 18-6 on the way to a 25-10 win. The next set saw Goshen start with a 5-1 advantage but Bethel went up 10-7. The Leafs cut the lead to one until BU scored six in a row and never looked back, winning the set by eight.

Similarly, Goshen started by winning four of the first five points in the third set and Bethel used a timeout when the Maple Leafs led 8-3. The Pilots went on an 11-2 run which forced a Goshen timeout. The Bethel lead only grew, however, and they won the third set 25-16.
