INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Women's volleyball lost in three sets at #21 Marian on Saturday evening. The Knights won 25-17, 25-16, 25-14.
Each team took 11 of the first 22 points in the match, but Marian went on an 8-1 scoring run in the middle of the first set which made the difference in a 25-17 win for the Knights. Goshen was down 22-11 in the second when they scored five of the last eight points, but it was too little too late. The Leafs were down 9-12 in the third, at which point Marian went on a 6-0 run to double the score. They went on to win the set by 11 and take the match 3-0.
Carmin Corey led Goshen with eight kills and
Sydney Stutsman did so in assists with 12.
Kassidy Faler and
Sami Lard had ten digs each. Marian's Nicole Wilkinson had 15 kills and just one attack error with a .667 hitting percentage. Her team had a .405 hitting percentage in the first set.
Goshen hosts Indiana Wesleyan on Wednesday, October 1, at 8:00 pm.
