GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Goshen College women's soccer team fell 3–0 on the road to Cornerstone University on Saturday.
The Maple Leafs held Cornerstone scoreless through the first 58 minutes. The Golden Eagles broke through at the 59:37 mark and added a second goal less than 10 minutes later, taking a 2–0 lead.
Goshen's best chances came late in the second half when junior
Sophia Yoder put up two shots in quick fashion at 78:08 and 79:03. Cornerstone answered with a third goal in the 87th minute to put the match out of reach.
The Golden Eagles outshot Goshen 19–4 and held a 5–0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Maple Leafs return home Wednesday, September 10, to host Siena Heights at 7 p.m.
