GOSHEN, Ind. - Every Maple Leaf scored on Saturday afternoon as the Maple Leafs hosted Indiana Wesleyan in Ruth Gunden Gymnasium. The Wildcats prevailed 66-47 in the end.
With the teams tied 4-4 early on, IWU went on a 13-0 run to break the game open. Goshen had three turnovers, a missed shot and a missed pair of free-throws in that span. Goshen held Indiana Wesleyan to shooting just 2-14 in the second quarter and scoring just eight points in that ten minute span. The Leafs, however, had just eight points of their own as well, and the Wildcats had an 11-point lead going into halftime.
The visitors had a 7-0 run in the third quarter while the Leafs managed just seven points in the quarter. The IWU lead was at 18 going into the fourth. Goshen scored 16 in the last ten minutes, but the Wildcats won 66-47.
Every Goshen player had at least two points, but no one scored more than nine.
Zy'Ann Phinezy had nine off the bench.
Kyla Foster scored six and led the team in rebounding for a fifth-straight game. Foster and
Sarah Elfrey had seven rebounds each.
Paulecia Isom's three assists were a career-high. All ten Maple Leafs played at least 16 minutes but no more than 29 minutes.
