GOSHEN, Ind. - Women's soccer faced the #2 Marian University Knights, ultimately falling 4-0.
The first real action of the game came through a yellow card, which was handed to Marian's Liz Fischer. Three minutes later, the Knights took the lead as the ball bobbled around in the box and ended up in the back of the net, with the last touch coming off Erin Reilly.
Four minutes later, the Knights doubled their advantage. Lauren Maresh crossed the ball in and Sophia Dawson smashed it home, first time.
Just before half time, the Knights scored their third as the ball was played across the box and Ava Sivadat found the top corner from about 20 yards out.
The first Maple Leaf card came through Natalie Boulier in the 50th minute. 20 minutes later, Laura Castro was also booked.
The Knights got their final goal in the 78th minute as Olivia Parmer picked up her ninth of the season.
The Maple Leafs got outshot 36-1. The only shot at the Marian goal came from Jessica Brito in the final five minutes.
The Maple Leafs are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 30 against #20 Taylor in Upland, Indiana with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
