WINONA LAKE, Ind. — Darienne Maust fired off a team-high 11 kills and Christy Swartzendruber added nine winners and 15 digs, but Goshen College dropped a four-set decision to Grace College in Crossroads League women's volleyball Wednesday night on the latter campus.

The Lancers (10-5, 5-2 CL) claimed a tight opening set 25-21 before Goshen (7-10, 0-6) sent the second stanza past its scheduled completion to level the match with a 28-26 win. Grace got off 16 winners against one error in cruising to a 25-12 third-set victory before taking the match with a 25-21 win in the fourth.

Grace pounded 67 winners to Goshen's 48 on the evening, with Caylie Teel and Sierra Smith each posting a match-high 16. Marla Bleed added 14 winners. Alexa Hill led all players with 48 assists for the Lancers.

Goshen will look to snap a four-match losing streak Friday evening on their home floor in Gunden Gymnasium before hitting the road for their last three matches of September. Taylor University will provide the opposition for the match, which begins at 7 p.m.
