Homers Power Goshen Baseball To Pair Of Weekend Wins

WALESKA, EMERSON, and TOCCOA, Ga. — Clinton Stroble II eased into the Goshen College career record book with a pair of home runs while Kody McGuire used his first career longball to seal a doubleheader split Monday as the GC baseball team won twice in Georgia on the first half of its spring break trip.

The Maple Leafs used their wins as bookends over the long weekend, claiming wins over Rio Grande on Saturday and Toccoa Falls on Monday. Goshen led the Red Storm 6-1 after four innings in the opener and scored four times in the last three innings to top the Screaming Eagles.

The Maple Leafs will return south for the second half of the trip this weekend, playing a four-game series with Cleary on Friday and Saturday in Emerson, Georgia, before meeting Robert Morris on Sunday in Florence, Kentucky. The Cleary series commences at 2 p.m. Friday at the LakePoint Sporting Community.
