Box Score WINONA LAKE, Ind. — The Goshen College women's volleyball team won the first set Wednesday, but Grace College came back to claim the next three and topple the Maple Leafs in four sets at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.
The Maple Leafs (6-17, 1-10) played nearly errorless volleyball in the first set, racking up 16 winners against a single error for a .484 hitting percentage. Haylee Pennington led Goshen with 11 kills.
Grace (11-11, 7-4) hit .259 for the match with at least 12 kills and a .184 percentage in all four sets. The Lancers got 13 winners from Gabby Harrington and 12 out of Makaela Lochmueller.
Goshen's Madison Coles led all players with 5 blocks and teammate Elizabeth Breckbill added 4, as did Lochmueller. Goshen finished with an 8-7 edge in the team total.
Gina Novotny led all players with 24 digs for Grace and Alexa Hill contributed 38 assists. The Maple Leafs put three players in double digits in the digs column, led by Tessa Clark with 14 and 13 apiece from Jennifer Ritchie and Ally Roehr.
Goshen returns to action Friday and Saturday at the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament hosted by Indiana Tech.
