The Leafs held the Cougars scoreless for the first time since 2015

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - For the second time in league play this season, the Goshen women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie, this time on the road at Mount Vernon Nazarene on Saturday. This was the first time the Leafs held the Cougars scoreless since 2015.

In the first half, Goshen had seven shots and MVNU took six. The defenses reigned supreme in the second half, with both teams only taking two shots each, though they were all on goal. Aina Lopez made five saves for Goshen in just the second match where she has played all 90 minutes. Hannah Miller of Mount Vernon Nazarene also made five saves without allowing any goals.

Madalyne Swallow took five shots for the Leafs - the most shots she has taken in a match since the final game of the 2023 season at Taylor. Two of her shots were on target and Lexy Adamczyk had two as well. Karlee Ballast had one shot on goal.

Goshen is at Saint Francis on Wednesday, October 16, at 7:00 pm.
