Natalie Thorne paced Goshen with eight saves while Molly Zook made two in the final 17 minutes. Balcer led all players with six shots, one more than Aubrey Schierbeek.
SAU took all of the match's seven corner kicks and suffered 10 of the 17 fouls. The Cougars advance to meet fifth-seeded Indiana Wesleyan, which upended Grace 1-0 later Saturday, in next week's semifinal matchup.
