MISHAWAKA, Ind. — Five players scored in double figures as the Goshen College men's basketball team posted a 78-58 win over Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon at the Bethel College Classic.

Conner Funkhouser, Trevor Commissaris and Kevin Phillips each chipped in 14 points, Devin Heath-Granger scored a dozen, and Austin Hayden was 6-for-8 at the foul line en route to 10 points.

The Maple Leafs shot 51 percent (28-for-55) from the floor and drained seven three-point shots, holding the visiting Wolverines to 37 percent on field goals and 18 percent on threes. Phillips finished with nine rebounds and Conner Funkhouser eight: Paul Standke pulled down a game-high 10 caroms for UMD, which finished with a 44-33 edge on the glass.

Goshen (6-0) forced the Wolverines into 20 turnovers while giving the ball away only nine times. Heath-Granger posted five assists, more than half of Michigan-Dearborn's team total of eight.

The Maple Leafs won their sixth straight game to start the season for just the third time in school history and the first time since 1966-67. Goshen will look to extend its undefeated start in its final game before conference play when Andrews University visits Gunden Gymnasium on Tuesday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
