Box Score

MISHAWAKA, Ind. — Demarkus Stuckey led all players with 12 points and 5 rebounds before halftime Wednesday night as Goshen College led by as many as 8 points in a Crossroads League men's basketball game at Bethel College. The Pilots, the 15th-ranked team in the NAIA Division II men's basketball coaches poll, won 83-61.

Stuckey finished with 19 points and Colton Noel added 11 for the Maple Leafs (1-8, 0-2). Twelve Goshen players saw action for at least 5 minutes, with every one posting a made basket or a rebound.

Goshen used a 14-3 run to pull ahead by 7 points at 24-17 just before the midpoint of the first half, getting baskets by five different players and putting a lid on the Bethel basket for almost four minutes. An Eli Gingerich 3-pointer stretched the lead as far as 8 at the 7:06 mark.

Bethel (10-1, 2-0) pulled level again before the intermission, with the score coming tied three times before the Pilots took a 39-36 lead into their Wiekamp Center locker room.

Each team shot better than 40 percent from long range over the opening 20 minutes: Goshen was 6-of-14 (42.9 percent) from deep and 14-of-30 (46.7 percent) from the floor overall.

Stuckey added 7 more points after the break, followed by 5 apiece from Noel and Tanner Camp, as both teams emptied their benches in the second half. Trevion Crews led the Pilots with 12 points after halftime, part of a game-high 21 points. Trey'von Covington added 11 second-half tallies and 19 for the game.

Crews and Paul Forman led all players with 8 rebounds apiece for BC while Stuckey paced the Maple Leafs with 5. Stuckey's 4 assists were one short of Crews for the game high.

Up Next: Goshen plays its third straight ranked foe to begin the Crossroads League season with a visit to top-ranked Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. following the women's game at 1.
